The Double Dutch Kitchen & Cocktails in Chandler closes after 21 months

🔒 New American gastropub The Double Dutch Kitchen & Cocktails has closed after 21 months on the northeast corner of Dobson and Germann in south Chandler.

No explanation was given for the closure. A sibling concept, The Kettle Black Kitchen & Pub in downtown Phoenix, remains open.

The Double Dutch debuted in July 2021, taking over The Ivy Mediterranean Lounge. Popular entrees included braised short ribs, grilled salmon, and scallop risotto.

W&Z Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar opens in Tempe

🍣 W&Z Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar has replaced Asian Hong Kong in the Fry’s plaza on the northwest corner of Rural and Ray in south Tempe. W&Z also has locations in Casa Grande, Prescott Valley, Payson, Lakeside, and Taylor. Open for lunch and dinner daily.

OHSO Brewery wins gold medal at beer awards

🍺 Congrats to OHSO Brewery, which won a gold medal for its Sudoku in the flavored-beer category at the eighth annual Best of Craft Beer Awards in Redmund, Ore. The awards are the third-largest professional brewing competition in North America.

Cartel adds location inside ASU’s Durham Hall

☕️ Tempe-based Cartel Roasting Company has opened its 13th location in the recently renovated Durham Hall on Arizona State University’s main campus in Tempe. Open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday.
