Korean tapas bar Pocha 54 makes debut at High Street in northeast Phoenix

Pocha 54, a Korean-style pub that offers soju and sake along with small plates of shareable food known as anju, has opened at High Street near the southwest corner of the Loop 101 and 56th Street in northeast Phoenix.

The space: It takes over the former Patio 54, which closed in March.

The food: More than 30 shareable dishes range from Korean-spiced edamame ($5.54) to gochujang Brussels sprouts ($9.54) to kimchi fried rice ($12.54) to crispy mayo shrimp ($19.54). There also are four varieties of hot pots.

The drinks: Besides a selection of soju and sake, draft or bottled beers include Cass, an unpasteurized pilsner, and Terra, a lager made with Australian barley, both brewed in South Korea. There’s even a Pocha Margarita.

Hours: 4-11:30 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. Closed Monday.
