Congrats to Saddle Mountain Brewing and three other Arizona breweries that won medals Wednesday at the prestigious 2023 World Beer Cup in Nashville, Tenn.
Saddle Mountain (pictured), located in Goodyear, was a double medal-winner, taking the gold in the American Wheat Beer category for its Taildragger 5G and the silver in Scottish Style Ale for its Taildragger Clan-Destine.
Other Arizona medalists:
State 48 Brewery won the gold in Strong Porter for its Baltic Porter brewed at its Lager House location in Scottsdale.
Flying Basset Brewing in Gilbert took the bronze in Coffee Beer for its Alchemist Breakfast.
LazyG Brewhouse in Prescott picked up the bronze in English Ale for its Sunshine Blonde.
The competition: This year’s World Beer Cup drew 10,213 entries in 103 style categories from 2,376 breweries in 51 countries.
- Previously an every-other-year event, the World Beer Cup was annualized last year.
