Goldwater Brewing launches 3rd Valley taproom in south Tempe

🍺 Goldwater Brewing, which launched in Old Town Scottsdale in 2015, has opened its third Valley taproom on the northeast corner of Priest and Ray in south Tempe.

The space: The newly constructed building, located between McDonald’s and the Perfect Pear Bistro, has a long L-shaped bar with four high-definition TVs, several community tables, roll-up garage-style doors, and a fenced patio.

The beers: There are 31 taps, 22 of which will feature Goldwater beers. Popular Goldwater beers include Desert Rose Cactus Ale, Machine Gun Teddy’s Brown Ale, and Hop Chowda Hazy IPA.

  • There also is a large cooler of Goldwater canned beers to go.

The food: Like Goldwater’s other two taprooms, there is no kitchen.

Family affair: Greg McClelland and his wife, Pam, launched the craft brewery with their sons, Chad, who oversees the brewing, and Dillon, who handles marketing, and son-in-law, Jimmy Disken, who is general manager.

Other locations: Northwest corner of Scottsdale and Goldwater in Scottsdale, and in the Longbow Marketplace on the southwest corner of the Loop 202 and Recker in northeast Mesa.

The hours: 1-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, noon-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday, noon-9 p.m. Sunday.
