California-based Roll-Em-Up Taquitos, the nation’s first taquito-focused franchise, makes its Arizona debut today on the southeast corner of Arizona and Frye in downtown Chandler.
The food: Roll-Em-Up offers five kinds of taquitos – braised shredded beef, seasoned ground beef, citrus-marinated chicken, potato with green chiles, or Monterey Jack cheese – in servings of two, three or five.
- Sides include street corn on a stick or in a cup. There are made-to-order churro doughnuts for dessert.
The drinks: Sodas, lemonade, horchata, and jamaica.
The chain: The father-and-son team Ron and Ryan Usrey launched Roll-Em-Up in 2019. There are 11 other locations in California, Nevada, and Texas.
Did you know: The local franchise group plans to open five southeast Valley locations over the next five years, including the next one in Gilbert by the end of this year.
Hours: 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-1 a.m. Friday-Saturday.
