Rito’s Mexican Food, home of award-winning burritos, opens at Mesa Riverview

🌯 Rito’s Mexican Food, a group of family-run restaurants known for its green chile burritos, has opened its fourth location in the former Matta’s space at Mesa Riverview on the southeast corner of the Loop 202 and Dobson in Mesa.

The history: Rito’s was founded in Phoenix in 1977 by Rito and Rosemary Salinas and is run today by their daughter, Charlotte Hansen (pictured), along with other family members.

The food: Burritos, tacos, tostadas, and enchiladas.

  • Rito’s signature green chile burrito was named the best burrito in Phoenix in April after winning AZCentral.com’s 2023 Phoenix Burrito Bowl.

The drinks: Sodas, iced tea, and a full bar.

Other locations: Rito’s has a sit-down restaurant with a full bar in Phoenix, as well as takeout-only locations in Phoenix and Surprise.

Hours: 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
