The Hub reopens in Mesa Wednesday after 2½-year rebuild following 2020 fire

The Hub Grill & Bar, a popular east Mesa sports bar whose original location has been closed since a fire on New Year’s Eve 2020, finally reopens at 11 a.m. Wednesday on the northeast corner of Sossaman and Baseline.

The delay: Insurance issues, as well as construction delays and equipment shortages due in part to the covid pandemic, stretched the rebuild to nearly two and a half years.

The space: A new layout includes a relocated entrance, the addition of a roll-up garage door, and a kitchen that’s doubled in size.

The food: Burgers, sandwiches, wings, pizzas, and other comfort-food entrees. Highlights include Hub Mac & Cheese, Iowa Pork Sandwich, and Giant Green Chile HUB Burrito.

The drinks: Sodas, iced tea, lemonade, and a full bar.

Did you know: During the rebuild, The Hub opened new locations in Ahwatukee and northeast Mesa, giving it a total of four.

Hours: 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-midnight Friday-Saturday.
