Mexican restaurant Mochilero Kitchen opens 2nd location in Scottsdale

After three years in Peoria, Mexican restaurant Mochilero Kitchen has opened a second location in front of the Safeway shopping center on the southwest corner of Frank Lloyd Wright and Thompson Peak in north Scottsdale.

The space: Next to Barro’s Pizza in the suite that was home to MAD Greens until it closed in 2021.

The food: Tacos, burritos, enchiladas, bowls, tortas, and combination plates. (Pictured: Chile En Nogada plate.)

  • Other highlights include an 18-ounce bone-in ribeye with chimichurri and garlic shrimp ($70), al pastor pork chops with pineapple salsa ($22), and scallops in yellow mole ($38).
  • Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday.

The drinks: Beer, wine, sangria, and cocktails.

Hours: 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.
