OG’z – The Original Empanada Shop, a Mexican restaurant specializing in sweet and savory empanadas, has opened on the northwest corner of Ellsworth and Ocotillo in Queen Creek.
The space: Formerly the home of Chairez Authentic Mexican Restaurant and, before that, Mi Casa Guadalajara Restaurant.
The food: 10 breakfast empanadas, 13 savory empanadas, and seven sweet empanadas.
- Also: Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, Navajo fry bread, and more.
The drinks: Soft drinks, aguas frescas, beer, and frozen margaritas.
The hours: 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. Closed Monday-Tuesday.
