Sushi Roku in W Scottsdale hotel to close July 31 after 15 years in business

Sushi Roku, the sleek restaurant in the W Scottsdale hotel, will close Monday, July 31, after 15 years in business.

The reason: Sushi Roku chose not to renew its lease ‘‘to focus on its other current locations and pipeline of expansion in other cities,’’ according to a media release.

The history: The Los Angeles-based Innovative Dining Group launched Sushi Roku in Hollywood in 1997. The Old Town Scottsdale location opened in 2008.

What’s next: After the July 31 dinner service, the hotel will take over the space and launch a new all-day restaurant.
