🌮🌯🇲🇽 Macayo’s Mexican Food, a local chain that will celebrate its 77th anniversary in September, has opened its 11th Valley location on the southeast corner of Indian School and Jackrabbit in Litchfield Park.
The background: Founded by Woody and Victoria Johnson in 1946, Macayo’s was sold to Tempe-based Kind Hospitality in 2019.
The food: Tacos, chimichangas, enchiladas, tacos, burros, salads, fajitas, and specialties like Tres Rellenos, Green Chile Pork Stew, and Chicken Poblano.
The drinks: Signature margaritas are served in iconic souvenir ceramic mugs.
The hours: 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
