🥩🐟🍣 Nelson’s Meat + Fish, a 6-year-old market that offers high-quality seafood and meats, has soft-opened a second location near the northeast corner of Scottsdale and Thunderbird in north Scottsdale.
The space: The 1,100-square-foot, wood-paneled market (similar in size and decor to the Phoenix location) has a 12-foot seafood glass case (four feet longer than Phoenix) and a smoker (not found in Phoenix).
Not a restaurant: Although Nelson’s offers ready-to-eat dishes, it doesn’t consider itself a restaurant and has no dining area, but…
- Nelson’s shares a parking lot with Hush Public House and its soon-to-open Bar Cena, where guests will be able to order food from NMF.
The food: Fresh meats and especially seafood, plus daily specials like crab salad, fish tacos, poke bowls, and clam chowder. (Pictured: The signature NMF Proper Lobstah Roll, only available on Wednesdays.)
- Nelson’s has only inductive cooktops, not a full kitchen, so it focuses on sandwiches and other cold preparations.
The hours: 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday for this week’s soft-opening. Hours will be extended until 5 p.m. next week. Closed Sunday and Monday.
