Beer Research Institute, Quail reach statewide distribution deal

By Jess Harter Wednesday, August 16, 2023

🍺 The Beer Research Institute, Mesa’s oldest and largest brewery, is partnering with Phoenix-based Quail Distributing to expand distribution of its craft beers throughout the state of Arizona.

Its first four beers to hit the market will be 480G West Coast IPA, Urban Art Hazy IPA, Vamonos Mexican Lager, and Morning Sex Coffee Stout.

BRI was launched by Matt Trethewey and Greg Sorrels on the southeast corner of Stapley and the U.S. 60 in 2014. It opened a taproom and arcade in downtown Mesa in 2022.

‘‘It’s been awesome to watch B.R.I. grow as a brewery over the past several years, while keeping true to their craft,’’ says Shawn Hillman of Quail Distributing. ‘‘We are very excited that the time has come for Matt and his team to take a big step forward into the world of distribution.’’

Look for BRI beers at bars, restaurants, and retailers starting the first week of September.
