Simon’s Hot Dogs to close Oct. 28 after 8 years in Old Town Scottsdale

🌭🇨🇴 Simon’s Hot Dogs, an eatery specializing in Colombian-style hot dogs and empanadas, is closing Saturday, Oct. 28, after nearly eight years in Old Town Scottsdale.

Marcela and Felipe Roldan launched the business in 2010 at Oak Creek Brewery in Sedona before moving to a 1,500-square-foot space near the northwest corner of Drinkwater and Third Avenue in late 2015.

In a social media post, the restaurant blamed skyrocketing rent for closure.

‘‘Simon’s Hot Dogs will be temporarily closing its doors, but fear not, our food truck will continue to serve you with the same love and dedication you’ve come to expect,’’ the post explained.
