🍔 White Castle, generally considered the world’s first fast-food hamburger chain, opened its second Arizona restaurant at 8 a.m. today near the northeast corner of I-10 and Warner in south Tempe.
The iconic chain is famous for its small, square burgers known as sliders, which are $2.89 apiece.
White Castle was founded in Wichita, Kansas, in 1921, but didn’t arrive in Arizona until 2019, when it launched a restaurant in Scottsdale where fans waited in hours-long lines on opening day.
This time, the chain temporarily will limit its hours to 8 a.m.-1 a.m. daily and there will be a 60-slider maximum order. There will be no online or delivery orders during the soft-opening period.
