🍺 Nearing its 10th anniversary in downtown Chandler, The Perch Pub & Brewery has soft-opened a second location, now dubbed Perch Brewing Company, on the northeast corner of Cooper and Ray in Gilbert.
It takes over the building and brewing equipment of Flying Basset Brewing, which closed Sept. 30.
There are 21 beers on tap – all Perch beers – compared to 30 at the Chandler original. Brewing on the 10-barrel system, a significant upgrade from Chandler’s 3-barrel, began Thursday.
The food menu is limited to burgers and a few other basics for now but will be expanded in the coming weeks.
The Gilbert location opens at 4 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday. Weekend brunch will start this Sunday. Lunch service is three or four weeks away.
And, no, there are no exotic birds like those that helped give the original location its name.
