
🍖 Caldwell County BBQ, one of the Valley’s top barbecue joints since opening in southeast Gilbert in 2018, has launched its long-awaited second location at Pecan Lake near the northwest corner of Riggs and Ellsworth in Queen Creek.
What’s Pecan Lake?
A new 12-acre indoor/outdoor entertainment center with a ropes course, electric go-karts, climbing wall, wave pool, putting course, axe throwing, escape room, karaoke, and several restaurants. It’s only partially open.
Eateries still to come: Your Pie, Sky Time Creamery, Surf City Burger, and SodaRush.
What’s on the BBQ menu?
Caldwell County’s smoked meats include brisket, ribs, pulled pork, sausage links, and turkey breast. Plate and sandwiches come with pickles, japaleños, onions, and white bread.
Sides options are lemon poppyseed cole slaw, corn casserole, pinto beans, potato salad, mac and cheese, and side salad.
There’s pecan pie, banana pudding (pictured), chocolate pecan sheet cake, and cookies for dessert.
Did you know?
Owner Clay Caldwell, who grew up working on his family’s pig farm near Snowflake, opened Waldo’s BBQ in east Mesa in 1993, but sold it in 2014.
Caldwell County BBQ has a sibling concept, Caldwell County Mexi-Q, just north of downtown Gilbert that serves Texas barbecue with a Mexican twist.
