Sweet Tomatoes’ comeback under new ownership to start in Arizona

By Jess Harter Thursday, February 8, 2024

🍅 Sweet Tomatoes, a national chain of salad buffet restaurants that went bankrupt and closed all 97 of its locations – including seven in the Valley – in 2020, is planning a comeback under new owners.

What we know so far

The first U.S location to reopen will be a former 7,000-square-foot Sweet Tomatoes on Broadway Boulevard in Tucson late this month or in early March.

The restaurant’s interior will be revamped with new colors and a new look, but the menu will remain the same.

What’s next?

No other locations have been announced yet, but the new owners say they will look for smaller spaces than the original restaurants.
