High-end modern Mexican grill Santo Arcadia opens in east Phoenix

🔥 Santo Arcadia, a grill-focused modern Mexican restaurant from Espiritu chef Roberto Centeno and Tacos Chiwas co-owner Armando Hernandez, has opened on the northeast corner of 44th Street and Osborn in east Phoenix.

What’s on the menu?

Santo, which is Spanish for ‘‘saint,’’ uses two types of grills – wood and charcoal.

Food highlights include lobster tostadas, birria dumplings, braised dinosaur short rib, grilled lobster and pork belly, New Zealand lamb chops, grilled mackerel, and dry-aged short bone ribeye.

The bar offers Mexican whiskey and bourbon, cocktails, and Mexican wines.

The space

The 7,500-square-foot space previously was home to The Vintage Arcadia cafe.

Did you know?

Centeno and Hernandez both were 2024 James Beard Award semifinalists, the former for Emerging Chef and the latter for Outstanding Restaurateur.
