Country’s only Sweet Tomatoes reopens in Tucson after 4-year closure

By Jess Harter Tuesday, April 2, 2024

🥗 Sweet Tomatoes, the national chain of salad buffet restaurants that went bankrupt and closed all 97 of its locations (including seven in the Valley) during the covid pandemic, has reopened a restaurant in Tucson.

It’s the first opening in what new owners hope will be a national revitalization of the brand, although no other locations have been announced yet.

What’s on the menu?

Salads, soups, baked goods, and desserts – all made from the original recipes.

The restaurant is now cashless. It only accepts credit, debit, and other contact-free forms of payment.

The space

The 7,000-square-foot building is a Sweet Tomatoes that closed in 2020. Its interior has been revamped with new colors and a new look.

If you go

📌 Sweet Tomatoes, 6202 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson. Open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
