🍕 Moon Pie Pizza & Patio, an indoor-outdoor bar that specializes in tavern-style pizzas, has opened in the former Teddy’s Preserve space on the northeast corner of Central and Roosevelt in downtown Phoenix.
What’s on the menu?
Twelve-inch pizzas – square-cut Chicago-style thin crust – start at $12 (plus $1.50-$2.50 per topping). There are five specialty pies ($15-$18), or you can build your own.
Also: Four appetizers ($9-$12), three salads ($7 half, $14 full), five sandwiches ($13-$16), and one dessert ($12.50).
The pedigree
The bar offers eight specialty cocktails, frozen margaritas, four wines by the glass, and domestic and craft beers (eight on tap plus cans and bottles).
Teddy’s Preserve, which closed after 10 months, was part of the hospitality group Whining Pig Enterprises (The Whining Pig, Pigtails, Rough Rider, etc.).
Matt Fulton, the majority owner of Whining Pig Enterprises, launched Moon Pie separately with Whining Pig partner Steve Coburn.
