🍺 Tempe restaurant and bar Boulders on Broadway, a 17-year fixture in the East Valley’s craft beer scene, is transforming into SaltFire Brewing Tap House.
Boulders owner Erick Geryol says he and his wife, Rochelle, are partnering with their friend Ryan Miller, owner of the Salt Lake City brewery.
New signage just went up on the northeast corner of Broadway and Roosevelt.
‘‘I started the sign process a while ago and it went faster than expected,’’ Geryol says. ‘‘The sign went up before we sent out our media packets so now we’re scrambling to catch up.’’
A new chef has been hired to revamp the food menu, and SaltFire beers are being shipped from Utah while Geryol works through the process of beginning some production in the Valley.
‘‘We still have 30 different flavors of beer on draft and 70 bottles,’’ Geryol says. ‘‘(It’s) just the core of our beers is going to be our own SaltFire products.
‘‘After 17 years, we wanted to freshen up the concept a little bit. We did some interior improvements, starting during covid and finishing up some this spring, along with the addition of windows and new landscaping.’’
The new partnership does not affect the Geryols’ other two restaurants – Spokes on Southern in Tempe and Boulders on Southern in Mesa.
