🍔 I’ve lived in the Valley long enough to remember when we had A&W Restaurant drive-ins. Back in the ’80s, I drove past one at Stapley and Broadway in Mesa every day on my way to work. Eventually, though, all Valley locations closed. Now, the Kentucky-based chain has returned with a 50-seat restaurant – sans drive-in – inside the Walmart near the northwest corner of Gilbert and Germann in Chandler. Depending on how many years since your last visit, the menu may not be exactly as you remember. The classic Papa Burger (along with several variations) is still offered, but the Mama Burger, Teen Burger, and Baby Burger have been replaced. Of course, their signature root beer and floats are still sold. Open 10 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.
