🍣 Sakana Sushi & Grill, a popular Japanese concept that debuted in 1994, is closing its Ahwatukee location at Elliot and 51st Street at the end of this month. Several employees tell MXSW they learned the news when they showed up for work over weekend. Sakana, which once had four Valley locations, shuttered its east Mesa restaurant in 2020 and its Glendale one last month. Employees at the Sakana in central Scottsdale say they haven’t been told if that location also is closing.
