Craft 64 and Pomo are the best pizzerias in Arizona, according to 50 Top Pizza. But the big news out of the well-respected organization’s latest Top 50 Pizzerias in the U.S. is who didn’t make it.
Phoenix’s iconic Pizzeria Bianco, which ranked fifth in the country last year and 10th in 2022, mysteriously fell completely off this year’s list, which was revealed Tuesday night at a ceremony in New York.
50 Top Pizza uses 1,000 anonymous inspectors to compile two annual rankings – one for the U.S. and another for Europe.
Pizzerias are judged by quality of the pizza dough and topping ingredients, as well as customer service and wine and beverage lists.
Craft 64 (pictured above), which has locations in Old Town Scottsdale and downtown Chandler, ranks No. 32 in the U.S. It was No. 30 last year and No. 50 in 2022.
Pomo, which has two locations in Phoenix and another in Scottsdale, is No. 40. It was No. 44 last year and No. 38 in 2022.
Penelope Pizza (No. 46) is the only other Arizona pizzeria on this year’s list.
New York’s legendary Una Pizza Napoletana was named the best pizzeria in the U.S. for the third straight year.
