🍕 MOD Pizza, the largest fast-casual pizza chain in the U.S., is considering filing for bankruptcy, perhaps as soon as this week, according to Bloomberg.
‘‘’We’re working diligently to improve our capital structure and are exploring all options to do so,’’ a Mod Pizza spokesperson said.
The chain, which closed 26 underperforming locations across 10 states earlier this year, operates more than 500 restaurants, including 22 in the Valley.
Other fast-casual pizza concepts – including Pieology, Blaze Pizza, and &pizza – also have struggled with rising costs and falling customer numbers since the covid pandemic.
