🫐 Frutta Bowls, a New Jersey-based chain specializing in açai bowls and smoothies, makes its Arizona debut today on the northwest corner of Gilbert and Baseline in Mesa.
The menu also offers six kinds of toasts and six different protein bites.
Hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.
Helping veterans
Franchise owner Richard Allende, a veteran, is donating 20% of today’s proceeds to the non-profit Azura Veterans Coalition, which supports veterans in the region.
Both the Azura Vets Coalition and American Legion Post 91 will receive a portion of the restaurant’s profits from one designated day each month.
Personal experience
After experiencing some health challenges, Allende embraced a plant-based lifestyle for half a decade, which significantly improved his overall well-being.
“This restaurant allows me to blend my passion for health with community service,” Allende says.
