Osteria-inspired Mora Italian closes after 7 years in Phoenix

🍝 Mora Italian, the osteria-inspired Phoenix restaurant founded by celebrity chef Scott Conant, has closed.

The announcement: ‘‘Mora Italian has closed its doors after seven incredible years,’’ the restaurant posted on its website. No reason was given.

The background: Conant, perhaps best-known as a judge on the Food Network’s ‘‘Chopped,’’ teamed up with Stefano Fabbri, chef-owner of Pomo Pizzeria Napoletana, to launch Mora.

  • Conant and Fabbri also opened pasta and steakhouse The Americano in Scottsdale in 2020.
  • Conant left both restaurants in May.
