🧆 Shawarmaati Mediterranean Grill, a Jordanian restaurant specializing in its namesake beef and chicken shawarma, has opened in southeast Gilbert.
- It takes over the former Green District space, next to Tikka Shack, near the southwest corner of Ray and Power roads .
What’s on the menu? Besides shawarma, there’s hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel, tabouleh, kafta, and more.
The quote: ‘‘We’re bringing the flavors of Jordan to Gilbert,’’ owner Mahdi Hammoud says. ‘‘Our goal is to serve authentic Middle Eastern food in a welcoming environment.’’
Open: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
