Family-run Achiote Latin Cuisine makes debut in Chandler

🌮 Family-run Latin American restaurant Achiote Latin Cuisine has opened at Chandler Commons in Chandler.

• The former Saguaros Tacos Y Churros food truck takes over the strip-mall space formerly home to DEZ Burrito on the southwest corner of Ray and Cooper roads.

What’s on the menu? ‘‘Classic tacos’’ and ‘‘Don Achiote tacos’’ (fried cheese on a tortilla) with a choice of carne asada, al pastor, or chicken are the house specialties.

• Also: Breakfast burritos and bowls (served until 1 p.m.), burritos, quesadillas, nachos (tortillas fried in-house), churros, and chocoflan.

Coming soon: Achiote plans to add arepas and empanadas to the menu.

Open: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
