Cider Corps in Mesa celebrates anniversary & veterans

🪖 Cider Corps, the veteran-owned craft cidery in downtown Mesa, celebrates its seventh anniversary this weekend.

  • Blueberry Brahma, the latest canned cider in Cider Corps’ Honor Series, will be released Friday. The collaboration with Meat Market Vintage Goods honors the Marine’s “Thundering Third” Battalion.
  • From 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, the cidery will host the Gem City Veterans Day Celebration. Admission is free with food and drink available for purchase. Veteran-owned businesses, veteran-supporting resources, veteran-operated food trucks and Arizona-made craft beverages will be on hand.
  • Marines and significant others are invited to the Marine Corps 249th Birthday Party starting at 7 p.m. Sunday. Marine veterans DJ Donnie Six and LO-HP will spin lo-fi beats.
  • After Monday’s East Valley Veterans Day Parade, chefs Armando Hernandez and Roberto Centeno (Tacos Chiwas, Espiritu, and Santo) will prepare a wood-fired pop-up lunch from 1-4 p.m.

Brothers Josh and Jason Duren (pictured) opened Cider Corps on Veterans Day in 2017. The pair had started making cider as a therapeutic hobby for Jason (on right) as he recovered from two traumatic brain injuries suffered while serving in Afghanistan.
