🥙 Phoenicia Cafe, a popular destination for ASU students for nearly two decades, is closing on the northwest corner of Seventh Street and Forest Avenue in downtown Tempe.
A sign in the window of the family-owned Mediterranean eatery and market blames ‘‘high rent’’ for the closure, which it says will happen in mid-December although an exact date was not given.
Phoenicia Cafe will continue to operate its other location in Gilbert.
