🍝 Élephante, an upscale coastal Italian restaurant, opens at 4 p.m. today at Scottsdale Fashion Square.
The concept from the Wish You Were Here restaurant group debuted in Santa Monica, Calif., in 2018. The Scottsdale location, which takes over the former Crate & Barrel space, is its second.
Wood-fired pizzas ($20-$24) and house-made pastas ($17-$52) are the signature menu items. Another highlight is the restaurant’s famed whipped eggplant dip ($15 pictured below right).

The 12,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor space in Fashion Square’s south wing is filled with cacti and other desert plants. Large banquettes can accommodate group dining.
Bar Bambino, a cocktail lounge exclusive to the Scottsdale location, will open Saturday.
During its soft opening, Élephante is open 4-11 p.m. daily. Lunch and weekend brunch hours will be added soon.
