SnapBack Pizzeria shuts doors after 2 years near downtown Phoenix

🍕 SnapBack Pizzeria, a slice shop serving a cross between Neapolitan and New York-style pizza, has closed after two years on the southeast corner of Grand Avenue and Fillmore near downtown Phoenix.

Chef and owner Ryan Moreno became popular as The Hungry Homie, using a portable outdoor pizza oven at pop-up events during the covid pandemic.

When Grand Avenue Pizza, where Moreno worked from 2015-17, closed in 2022, he took over its bricks-and-mortar space.

‘‘The last two years have been nothing but amazing from every single person we have met to every event we have done,’’ the pizzeria posted on social media. ‘‘Thank yall. It’s not a goodbye but more of a see ya later.’’
