La Piazza al Forno in Glendale to close after nearly 18 years

🍕 La Piazza al Forno, mentioned on nearly every list of the Valley’s top pizzerias, is closing after almost 18 years in Glendale.

‘‘Our lease ends in July and will not be renewing,’’ the restaurant posted on social media. ‘‘We hope to see all of our amazing customers one more time before our doors close.’’

The family-owned business, which has been featured on the Food Network’s ‘‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,’’ offers Neapolitan pies cooked in a wood-fired oven at 900 degrees for no more than 90 seconds.

Owner Justin Piazza had closed his two other restaurants – La Piazza PHX in downtown Phoenix and La Piazza Romana in Avondale – in 2020 during the covid pandemic to focus on the Glendale location.
