☕️ Tres Leches Cafe, a popular Mexican coffeehouse in downtown Phoenix, is preparing to close after nearly seven years. The cafe has been embroiled in a legal feud with its landlord since November 2023.
The closing date has not been announced, but co-owner Jose ‘‘E.T.’’ Rivera says he’s been asked to vacate by Wednesday.
‘‘We will be working to get a timeline together as soon as possible, for now, if you haven’t been to our Van Buren location or want to get one final selfie with our beautiful murals we encourage you to come in,’’ the business posted on social media.
Tres Leches opened at Roosevelt and 13th Avenue in 2016 before moving to its current site on the northwest corner of Van Buren and 17th Avenue in 2018. A second location that launched in south Phoenix will remain open.
