🤠 Neon Spur, a 1970s-themed western dive bar, has opened in the former Handlebar space near the northeast corner of Mill and Seventh Street in downtown Tempe.
The bar is a joint venture by Clive Collective (Cala, Tell Your Friends) and kNOw Name Concepts (Three Beans Cafe).
“Neon Spur is designed to stand out amongst the local bar scene,” Clive Collective co-founder Mikis Troyan says in a media release.
He adds, “The intention is to foster a lively, hospitable space where locals and visitors come together to socialize and enjoy cold cans, stiff drinks and good backyard grub.”
The simple American comfort food menu from celebrity chef Beau MacMillan, a partner in Clive Collective, features burgers and hot dogs.
An indoor-outdoor bar focuses on low-cost cocktails, domestic beers, and seltzers. A vintage trailer also serves the patio.
Neon Spur’s interior has vintage furniture, a non-working cigarette machine and jukebox, old TVs, and neon signs.
Hours are 3 p.m.-2 a.m. Tuesday-Sunday.
