Durant’s sold to Mastro family, will temporarily close for kitchen work

🥩 Durant’s, the iconic Phoenix steakhouse that opened in 1950, has been sold to the owners of acclaimed Valley restaurants Dominick’s Steakhouse, Steak 44, and Ocean 44.

Jack McElroy, whose father founded the restaurant with Jack Durant, says no family members were willing to take over the steakhouse, so he sought buyers who would protect the steakhouse’s legacy.

It’s the first existing restaurant acquired by brothers Mike and Jeff Mastro, their father Dennis, and business partner Scott Troilo.

The steakhouse, located near the northeast corner of Central and Virginia, will close for kitchen improvements expected to take two to five months.
