George & Gather, an all-day New American restaurant, bar, and market, has soft-opened near the southwest corner of Washington and Frye in downtown Chandler.
The 7,700-square-foot, Art Deco-inspired space includes an 80-seat dining room, an indoor-outdoor bar, and a 36-seat patio with a fireplace.
From-scratch breakfast dishes feature eggs from pasture-raised chickens and nitrate-free bacon. Other highlights include carrot cake pancakes with pecan-oat granola ($16) and blueberry-lemon chia pudding ($12.50).
The lunch menu offers wagyu meatballs ($18), a double burger with grass-fed beef on a Noble brioche bun ($23), and a pulled pork sandwich with Korean barbecue sauce ($16 with side).
Nine 12-inch pizzas ($17-$22) made with a 130-year-old sourdough starter are the centerpieces of the dinner menu. Other entrees range from pasta pomodoro ($21) to pan-seared Faroe Island salmon ($34) to roasted organic chicken ($32).
A grand-opening celebration will take place Saturday when the first 100 customers will get free organic drip coffee for a month.
Open 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday-Monday and 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
