Bikanervala, a casual Indian restaurant and snack food chain based in Dehli, has made its Arizona debut in Chandler.
The all-vegetarian concept has taken over the former Jimmy John’s space in front of the Walmart on the southeast corner of Arizona and Pecos.
The Chandler location is the worldwide chain’s eighth in the U.S. and first in the Southwest.
The menu features Indo-Chinese and North Indian cuisine, including thali platters and all kinds of chaat snacks such as samosas and momo dumplings.
Bikanervala was founded in Delhi as a sweets shop, and the restaurants carry an extensive selection of desserts, many rarely found elsewhere.
Dessert highlights include gulab jamun (fried dumplings in a cardamom rose syrup) and rasmalai (milk-soaked cottage cheese patties with cardamom and saffron).
Open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.
