Sonoran wood-fired restaurant Glenrosa has opened at Grass Clippings Rolling Hills golf course and entertainment venue in north Tempe.
The 5,800-square-foot restaurant is the final piece of a $15 million renovation of the longtime Rolling Hills, Arizona’s only night golf facility located just off Mill Avenue south of the Phoenix Zoo.
When announced in January, Glenrosa was an intended partnership with James Beard-nominated chef and Sonora native Samantha Sanz (Talavera, Virtú Honest Craft, Elements).
Sanz, however, is moving to Texas. Her former Four Seasons colleague Victor Davila, another Sonora native, has taken over as executive chef.
Glenrosa’s menu focuses on family-style platters with ribeye, tortillas, roasted vegetables, rice, and beans, along with tacos, salads, and salsas.
Highlights include crispy tacos stuffed with chile Colorado beef and pickled veggies; a 20-ounce bone-in ribeye with charred onion and roasted veggies; and large family platters with tomahawk steaks, whole chickens, enchiladas, and fish.
The indoor-outdoor space features fire pits, group seating, and views of the Papago Buttes and the golf course.
Open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
