Cajun Breakfast Joint relocates, takes over Tempe Eats food hall

🦞 Cajun Breakfast Joint, which opened last summer in Chandler to rave reviews, has relocated to the former Tempe Eats food hall.

The food hall launched in February 2024 on the southeast corner of Mill and Southern, offering 10 different food concepts under one roof in what formerly was a Pet Club.

In January, however, Tempe Eats owner Teresa Nguyen shifted her strategy and turned the building into an event and private rental venue.

Now, she’s changing directions again. Cajun Breakfast Joint and its two sibling concepts, Seafood Boil AZ and Creole Bowls to Go, have taken over the building.

CBJ’s menu still features a mix of traditional breakfast items and Cajun favorites, the latter including  grits, beignets, gumbo, etouffee, jambalaya, red beans and rice, and more.

There’s also a pour-your-pint beer wall and a full bar.

Although the soft opening is being billed as an April 1-30 ‘‘pop-up,’’ CBJ owner Rex White already is planning to bring in several other concepts, such as pizza and fresh seafood, this summer.

Tempe Eats is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.
