Süss Pastries opens brick & mortar bakeshop in Phoenix

🌵 Süss Pastries, a bakery specializing in European-style pastries with Sonoran flavors, has opened a storefront on the southeast corner of Seventh Avenue and Missouri in Phoenix.

Launched by Jasmin Smith in 2018 out of her apartment kitchen, Süss (pronounced ‘‘soose’’) grew in popularity at farmers markets and coffee shops.

Now it’s got a permanent spot in the same building as Hatch-It and Corner on the Market – where Smith once rented the kitchen overnight for her baking.

Signature menu items are the fruit pockets (sort of a fancy Pop-Tart). Bestselling flavors include the raspberry prickly pear and the date and brown sugar ($6.20 apiece).

There’s also breakfast sandwiches, quiche, rolls, muffins, cakes, pies, cookies, and bars.

Open 6-11:30 a.m. Tuesday-Friday, 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, and 8 a.m.-noon Sunday.
