🍝 Bar Capri, an Italian restaurant and bar from the owners of Freely Taproom & Kitchen, has opened in south Tempe.
It takes over the space formerly home to Slim Thick Cafe – next door to Freely – on the northwest corner of McClintock and Warner.
Bar Capri soft-opened nearly a month ago but with a very limited menu (just appetizers and salads) but now has expanded its menu.
Entrees include Nonna’s Lasagna (a nod to the popular Nonna’s Meatballs at Freely, $18), gnocchi ($16), beef ravioli ($22), flat iron steak with chimichurri ($22), and Atlantic salmon ($24, pictured above).
Skewers are available with shrimp, lemon pepper chicken, steak, prosciutto, and lamb ($15).
Still to come: a variety of flatbreads, such as sausage, carbonara, and cacio e pepe.
The Paper Plane (bourbon, Aperol, lemon, and Amaro Nonino, $16) and Porn Star Martini (vodka, lemon, passionfruit, Prosecco, and porn star candy, $13) head the list of specialty cocktails.
Open 3-10 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, 3-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and 3-10 p.m. Sunday.
