Fire closes Arcadia’s Eat Up Drive In ‘for foreseeable future’

🔥 Eat Up Drive In, an Arcadia eatery set to celebrate its four-year anniversary today, instead will be closed indefinitely after an attic fire Sunday night.

‘‘Everyone is safe and unharmed after a fire tonight at Eat Up Drive In,’’ the restaurant posted on social media. ‘‘We will be closed for the foreseeable future.’’

The cause of the fire has not been disclosed by owner Jocque Concepts, whose other restaurants are The Montauk, Diego Pops, and The Hot Chick.

Eat Up had announced plans to celebrate its anniversary today with $4 cheeseburgers.

It’s unknown how long the restaurant will be closed, but some past Valley restaurant fires have resulted in lengthy shutdowns.

Tempe sport bar Doc N Eddy’s had a fire in March 2019 and didn’t reopen until August 2020.

The Hub sports bar in east Mesa had a fire on New Year’s Eve 2020 and didn’t reopen until June 2023.

Mexican restaurant Cocina Madrigal in Phoenix had a fire in March 2024 and is not unexpected to reopen until this fall.
