Shatera

🥙 Shatera, a counter-service Mediterranean restaurant offering halal shawarma and kabobs, has opened at Verde at Cooley Station near the southwest corner of Williams Field and Recker in Gilbert. It’s situated between Hash Kitchen and Vitality Bowls. The menu features breakfast boats ($9.99-$11.99), pockets ($11.99-$13.99), and plates ($16.99-$18.99). Open 8 a.m.-8:45 p.m. daily. Shake Shack

🍔 Shake Shack, the popular New York City-based chain of fast-casual burger eateries, finally has arrived in the West Valley. The sixth Valley location has opened south of Civic Park Square – just west of B.J.’s – near the northwest corner of McDowell and Bullard in Goodyear. The fast-casual menu offers Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches, griddled flat-top dogs, and frozen custards. Open 10:30 a.m.-midnight daily.

Garrett Popcorn

🍿 Garrett Popcorn, a Chicago-based chain of shops that sell a half-dozen flavors of gourmet popcorn, has opened near Terminal 4 Level 3’s Gate A1 – that’s post-security – at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. The most popular flavor is Garrett Mix, a combination of cheddar cheese and caramel popcorns. And it isn’t cheap – a ‘‘classic’’ tin (the smallest size at 14 cups) of Garrett Mix starts at $35. Open 7 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
