Chubby Skewers brings late-night Chinese street foods to Mesa

🇨🇳 Chubby Skewers, a northeastern Chinese barbecue concept with more than 100 locations in China, has made its Arizona debut in the former BBQ House space on the southeast corner of Dobson and Guadalupe in Mesa.

Guests can build their own feast at a semi-self-service skewer bar from:.

• Wagyu skewers: Featuring Japanese A5 wagyu, Masami American wagyu, and Australian wagyu ($1 each for Chubby Club members, $1.20 for non-members);
• Street foods:  Chicken wings, duck tongue, seafood, and seasonal vegetables;
• Hot dishes: Mala tang, sizzling tofu and enoki mushrooms, fried instant noodles;
• Cold dishes: Spicy cold noodles, marinated beef shank, and chilled Chinese-style salads.

Open 5 p.m.-3 a.m. daily.

Hawaiian Bros Island Grill in Phoenix

>> Island-style plate lunches with your choice of protein (chicken or pork), white rice, and macaroni salad are the focus at Hawaiian Bros Island Grill, which has opened its sixth Valley location at PV near the northeast corner of Cactus and Paradise Valley Parkway in northeast Phoenix. Open 10 a.m.-3 a.m. daily.

Angie’s Prime Grill in Phoenix

>> Local drive-thru steakhouse concept Angie’s Prime Grill has opened its 13th Valley location in the former Eegee’s building on the northwest corner of Peoria and 35th Avenue in west Phoenix. The menu offers bowls, burritos, and salads with a choice of steak, chicken, shrimp, or falafel. Open 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
