🥐 The Kolache Cafe, a East Valley bakery specializing in its namesake Czech pastries, has opened its fourth location just south of Gilbert Mercy Medical Center on the southeast corner of Val Vista and the Loop 202 in Gilbert.

The cafe sells nearly 30 kinds of traditional fruit-filled kolaches ($2.89 apiece), as well as two dozen savory varieties ($3.89 each) typically associated with Texas.

Owners Jose and Bebe Leal introduced their concept in Ahwatukee in 2020. They launched a second location in east-central Mesa last November and another in southwest Mesa in December.

A fifth location is in the works at Ellsworth and Elliot in southeast Mesa. It’s expected to open later this year.

Open 6 a.m.-3 p.m. daily.
