Hooked Seafood Grill brings ocean-fresh offerings to Gilbert

🐟 Hooked Seafood Grill has opened in the former Elbows Mac N Cheese space between Chipotle and Wing Stop at the Crossroads Towne Center on the southeast corner of the Loop 202 and Gilbert Road in south Gilbert.

The family-owned restaurant offers seven seafood salads, seven seafood sandwiches, five seafood tacos, shrimp and crab cocktails, and steamed clams, mussels, and shrimp. (Pictured: the lobster roll.)

Seafood plates ranging from swordfish to mahi to red snapper come with rice and salad. Fried platters include french fries and cole slaw.

Beer and wine are available.

Open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.

Preston’s Steakhouse in Scottsdale

🥩 Preston’s Steakhouse, a family-owned restaurant on the northwest corner of Pima and Pinnacle Peak in north Scottsdale, is closing May 31. The steakhouse, which may look for a new location, opened in 2015 and was named after chef Charles Schwerd’s grandfather, who was a butcher. Schwerd also owns Arrowhead Grill in Glendale.

Starbucks’ summer menu & other quick bites

>> Starbucks has launched its summer 2025 menu that includes a new Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso (pictured), the return of last summer’s Summer-Berry Refreshers (available with lemonade or coconut milk), and a new Strawberries & Cream Cake Pop.

>> Little Caesar’s is testing oval-shaped, ‘‘artisan-style’’ pizzas in several U.S markets, including Yuma. The 12-piece pizzas come in three varieties – bruschetta, cheesy garlic chicken, and double pepperoni – and cost $5.99-$6.99. The trial run is scheduled to go through June 29.

>> Shake Shack, which has had only one side (crinkle-cut fries) on its menu since opening 20 years ago, has introduced a second one – fried pickles. Each order comes with house-made Shack Ranch for dipping. The side only will be available this summer.
