After 17 years, Flancer’s is closing its restaurant on the southwest corner of Higley and McKellips on Saturday, June 28.
‘‘Thank you for the laughter, the memories, the milestones, and the meals,’’ the restaurant posted on social media. ‘‘You’ve been more than just customers — you’ve been family.’’
Flancer’s original Gilbert location will remain open.
Flancer’s was founded by chef-owner Jeff Flancer, who retired in 2022 and sold the two restaurants to Shane Lindsey.
Mellow Mushroom closes Mill Avenue location
🚫 Atlanta-based Mellow Mushroom has closed its location on the southwest corner of Mill and Seventh Street in downtown Tempe. The 8,000-square-foot pizzeria opened in 2011.
‘‘It has been an honor to be a part of your celebrations, late nights, and everyday moments,’’ the chain posted on social media. ‘‘We will miss you more than word (or pizza) can say.’’
Mellow Mushroom, which closed its Ahwatukee location in 2021, still has restaurants in Phoenix, Mesa, and Scottsdale.
The Mexicano: all-you-can-eat tacos for $8.88
🌮 The Mexicano in Phoenix and Chandler has launched ‘‘All-You-Can-Eat Taco Thursdays.’’ You can kick off the weekend early with endless tacos for just $8.88 per person every Thursday.
The deal is good only in the bar area – no carryout or to-go boxes. Taco options include potato, al pastor (pictured), shrimp, and crunchy beef.
It joins the Maggiore Group restaurant’s two other weekly specials: 50% margaritas on Mondays and $2 tacos on Tuesdays (dine-in only).
In addition, The Mexicano just started an all-day happy hour with $4 classic margaritas, Modelo drafts, and well drinks, plus a bunch of happy hour food specials.
